CodeVault Privacy Policy
Effective November 3, 2026
CodeVault (“the app”) is made by jeg.pub. This policy explains what the app does with your information. In short: the codes you save stay on your phone and watch, and we don't collect, sell or share them.
What we collect
Nothing. We don't run servers for the app, the app has no accounts, and we don't receive the codes you save, your photos, or anything about you.
What stays on your devices
- Your codes. Each saved code (its name, value and format) is stored in the app's private storage on your phone.
- Sync to your watch. Codes are copied to your paired Wear OS watch using Google Play services' Wearable Data Layer, which sends them directly between your own devices. Only the decoded code is sent, never a photo.
- Camera and photos. The app uses your camera, or a photo you pick, only to read a barcode. The image is processed on your phone and is not saved or uploaded.
Services from Google
The app uses these Google components, which have their own privacy terms:
- ML Kit barcode scanning reads barcodes on your device. Google says ML Kit may send Google information about the device and app (such as device model, OS version and app version) and about how well the barcode scanner performs, to maintain and improve ML Kit. It does not send the images or the codes it reads. See ML Kit terms.
- Google Play Billing handles the optional CodeVault Pro purchase. Payment is processed by Google; we never see your payment details. The app checks with Google Play whether you own Pro.
- Google Play services provides the phone–watch connection.
Deleting your data
Delete a code in the app on your phone or watch and it's removed from both. Uninstalling the app removes its data from that device.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above.
